How does Boomtown Bartenders work?
Boomtown is labor-only, dry-hire bartending: you stock the alcohol, and we send a trained, insured crew to run your bar. Tell us your date and headcount for an instant crew quote in about 60 seconds, then claim it online. We recommend the right crew size, and you can adjust it before you book.
What does labor-only / dry-hire mean? (Dry-hire explained)
It means you buy and provide all the alcohol, and Boomtown provides the bartending labor, bar tools, ice chests, and setup. Oklahoma law prevents a bartending company without a liquor license from selling alcohol, so the host supplies the bottles and our crew pours them. You stay in control of what you spend on alcohol, and we even send a shopping list sized to your guest count.
How is Boomtown priced?
Boomtown prices labor by the shift. Each role, including bartender, cocktail server, barback, F&B server, and an optional crew leader, is billed at a flat hourly rate with a 4-hour minimum. For exact, current rates, see the rate card on our homepage or get an instant crew quote; your quote itemizes every role and hour before you commit.
What crew roles can I book?
Bartenders build and pour at the bar, cocktail servers work the floor with trays, barbacks keep ice, glassware, and stock moving, and F&B servers handle food and beverage service. For larger events (typically 200 or more guests, or 5 or more staff) a crew leader is added to run the team on site.
How many bartenders do I need?
As a rule of thumb we recommend about one bartender per 75 guests, one cocktail server per 50, and one barback per 100, but your instant quote recommends a crew based on your exact headcount. You can always add or remove staff before you book.
What is included with every booking?
Every Boomtown booking includes ice chests, bar tools, full setup, and tear-down and cleanup. You provide the alcohol, mixers, and any specialty glassware; we bring the people and the gear to run the bar all night.
Do you provide the alcohol or mixers?
No. Because we are a dry-hire crew, you supply the alcohol and mixers. We give you a shopping list sized to your guest count so you buy the right amount, and our crew handles everything behind the bar once it is on site.
Are your bartenders licensed? What is the Marissa Murrow Act?
Yes. The Marissa Murrow Act (Oklahoma HB 2369), effective July 1, 2026, requires anyone serving alcohol at an event to hold a state-issued Event Bartender License from the Oklahoma ABLE Commission. Every Boomtown bartender is 21 or older, ABLE-licensed, insured, and trained to serve responsibly and recognize over-service.
Are there travel fees?
Boomtown serves the greater Oklahoma City metro. Events within our standard service area have no travel fee; events farther out may add a per-crew travel fee. You can check your travel fee by entering your zip code on our homepage, and your instant quote calculates it automatically.
What types of events do you staff?
Boomtown is built for weddings, corporate and office parties, festivals, fundraisers, backyard and house parties, and any event where you would rather buy your own alcohol and hire a professional crew to run the bar.
How far in advance should I book?
The sooner the better, especially for weekend and holiday dates, which fill up fast. You can get a quote and claim your date online any time, with no deposit required to see your price.
