How does Scissortail Bartending work?
Scissortail is a beverage-focused mobile bar built for weddings, showers, and birthdays. You pick one of three per-guest collections, tell us your date and headcount, and get an instant online estimate in about 60 seconds. No deposit is required to see your price, and your own planning portal keeps your estimate, menu, and timeline in one place.
How is Scissortail priced?
Scissortail uses simple per-guest pricing for four hours of service, with a $500 minimum. The Pour is $6 per guest, The Spread is $8 per guest, and The Whole Party is $10 per guest. Your instant estimate shows the exact total for your guest count before you ever commit.
What are The Pour, The Spread, and The Whole Party?
They are our three collections. The Pour ($6/guest) is beer, seltzer, cider, wine, sparkling wine, and champagne service. The Spread ($8/guest, our most-booked) adds craft cocktails and mocktails with ice included. The Whole Party ($10/guest) is a full cocktail bar plus two custom signature drinks designed around your event.
What drinks can you serve?
Every Scissortail menu is designed so there is a drink for everyone. Depending on your collection we pour beer, seltzers, ciders, wine, and champagne, plus craft cocktails, zero-proof mocktails, and our signature dirty soda bar. Non-drinkers, designated drivers, and kids are always covered.
What is included in every package?
Every collection includes a uniformed, professional bartender, full setup and tear-down, and four hours of service. Mixers, garnishes, and bar tools come with the cocktail tiers, and you can add ice, a dirty soda bar, or a hydration station depending on your collection.
Do I need to provide the alcohol? (Dry-hire explained)
Yes. Scissortail operates as a dry-hire bar: you purchase and supply the alcohol, and we provide the licensed bartending service, mixers, tools, and setup. Oklahoma law prevents a bartending company without a liquor license from selling alcohol, so the host buys the bottles and our pros pour them. The upside is control and savings, you choose exactly what to buy and how much to spend, and we even give you a shopping list of what to get.
What is the Marissa Murrow Act, and are you compliant?
The Marissa Murrow Act (Oklahoma HB 2369), effective July 1, 2026, requires anyone serving alcohol at an event to hold a state-issued Event Bartender License from the Oklahoma ABLE Commission. Every Scissortail bartender is 21 or older, ABLE-licensed, and trained to recognize over-service and pour responsibly, so your event stays compliant and your guests stay safe.
Can you serve a fully non-alcoholic event?
Absolutely. Our mocktails, dirty sodas, and hydration stations make a gorgeous zero-proof bar, perfect for dry weddings, showers, kids' parties, and corporate events. You get the same professional bartender and presentation, just alcohol-free.
What types of events do you serve?
Scissortail is built for weddings, bridal and baby showers, birthdays, anniversaries, graduations, and intimate gatherings across the Oklahoma City metro. If you want a polished, beautiful bar without a premium price tag, we are a great fit.
What areas do you serve?
We serve the greater Oklahoma City metro, including Edmond, Norman, Moore, Yukon, Mustang, and surrounding communities, generally within about a 50-mile radius. Travel beyond that may add a small fee, which your instant estimate calculates automatically.
How far in advance should I book?
Popular dates, especially spring and fall weekends, book up fast, so the sooner the better. You can lock in your estimate online any time, with no deposit required to see your price. Reach out as soon as you have a date in mind.
